The three of us had the opportunity to spend a week in Las Vegas over the 4th of July! It was HOT!! We stayed at Harrah’s and enjoyed a day at the pool. What you need to know…
There are very few lounge chairs available for free which is why there was a line to get into the pool starting at 8:40am – – the pool opens at 9:00am. When I say “very few” I mean “very few“. I’m going to guess there were 10 spots to sit at the main pool (without charge), none on the second deck and maybe 10-15 spots on the upper deck, all direct sun. I would recommend the chairs directly to the left of the entrance are the best because they provide a couple of hours of morning shade. And – – you are going to want shade if you travel in July.
When staying at Harrah’s you also get access to the pool at LINQ and Flamingo. Those pools weren’t much to speak of either and if you are traveling with kiddos, LINQ is 21 and older only.
Sean and I decided to rent a day bed just to get some shade protection. It did provide shade but it was also very hot in there without a breeze. The day bed cost us $80.00 with a minimum food and beverage purchase of $75.00.
There were other lounge chair and cabana options available (for a fee). You can book this on line for an additional service fee or book directly when you get to the pool. I think it came out to be slightly less expensive to book day of/direct, but you run the risk for them being all reserved. Cabana vs Soho Daybed
Once we arrived at our Daybed were told there were no towels available (it was 9:15am) no one had any. They were waiting for laundry to deliver towels and hoped it would be soon. They arrived approximately one hour later. We did receive waters in a bucket of ice that they refreshed a few times for us through the day. So nice!
We went to order breakfast, selected something off the menu and were told that service didn’t start until 10:00am. We waited until 10:00am and asked to place our order. We were told that they only had 3 items available from the menu. We could however request food from inside the hotel with a simple QR Code. There was a $10 service charge for this purchase. We ordered a cheeseburger and fries from Bobby Flays at it came to about $47.00. It was delicious and arrived quick and hot, but expensive for what it was. I later learned that we could have gotten it ourselves and brought it in. Our waitress also agreed to wave our food and beverage charge of $75.00 because we ordered and because they had such limited options available.
The pool was “okay” about what you would expect. It was packed, party music and people everywhere. They did have some floaties in the pool and that was nice. We also received really great service for the attendant. Check out the VIBE at The Pool at Harrah’s.
